In three moves

You note. Kotisso works it out.

No shared spreadsheet, no « how much do I owe you again? ».

1

Create the group

A name, a link to send, and the others join in one click. Nothing to download.

2

Add the expenses

Who paid, how much, for whom. Equal shares or tailor-made, percentages included.

3

Everything evens out

The balances update live for everyone, and Kotisso suggests the shortest way to settle up.

Who it's for

As soon as several people
share the same expense.

👨‍👩‍👧

Separated parents

School meals, orthodontist, summer camp. Each their share, decided once and for all, and a statement you can read again with a clear head.

🏡

Flatshare

The rent, the groceries, the internet. Whoever pays no longer has to remind anyone, it's written down.

Holidays together

A week, twelve expenses, six people. At the end, two transfers are enough.

💞

As a couple

Two different salaries, a pro-rata split. The shared budget without the spreadsheet.

The detail that changes everything

Nothing gets lost
in the rounding.

Ten euros split three ways doesn't come out even. Most apps let a cent slip away. Kotisso gives it to someone, always the same one, and tells you who.

  • Four ways to split: equally, by shares, by percentage, or to the exact amount.
  • A parent looking after two children counts as three shares. That's settled once.
  • The repayment plan suggests the fewest transfers, never one more.

The questions we get asked

What you want to know before you start.

Is Kotisso really free?
Yes. Recording expenses, splitting them four different ways, seeing balances update live, getting the settlement plan and exporting the statement as CSV or PDF all cost nothing, with no ads and no limit on how many people join. The premium subscription only buys comfort: ten active groups instead of two, history beyond twelve months, a group's statistics and a profile photo. The figures themselves are exact for everyone.
Does everyone need an account?
Yes, one each, and that is what lets everybody watch their own balances update live instead of asking whoever keeps the spreadsheet. You join a group in one click from the invitation link, or with a six-character code. There is nothing to download and no bank details are ever asked for.
Do I have to install an app?
No, Kotisso runs in a browser, on a phone as well as on a computer. It will still install on your home screen if you want it to, in one gesture and without going through an app store, and it then opens without a network to show the last balances it knew.
Does Kotisso handle the money?
Never. Kotisso keeps the count, it carries nothing: no bank account is connected, no transfer leaves from here. You pay each other back however you usually do, then record the repayment in one line, and the balances drop back to zero.
Can I record an expense paid in another currency?
Yes. A group counts in its own currency, and an expense paid elsewhere is entered in the one it was paid in, with its rate: the converted amount goes into the balances, while the expense keeps what it actually cost so it still matches the receipt. The rate is frozen at entry, otherwise everyone's balances would move every morning.
What happens to our expenses?
They stay between the members of the group. Nothing is sold on, nothing is tracked, there are no ads and no advertising trackers. The statement exports to CSV and PDF whenever you like, and an account can be deleted from inside Kotisso, without writing to anyone.
